Publisher: The Stygian Society
Publication: The Stygian Zine – The Old Gods
In this project I created the cover and internal illustration for the fourth issue of The Stygian Zine, titled “The Old Gods”, a literary collection published by The Stygian Society.
I sought to depict the Greek primordial deities, Chaos, Gaia, and Tartarus, emphasizing how their power over humanity is slowly fading as people become more consumed by money and their own endless wars.
“A Gorgon feeds a man peach tarts. A goddess of loyalty refuses to surrender to history’s version of her tale. There are rites and reckonings. Hunger and preservation. Choices made in the name of love, or power, or something unnamable. These stories contain stone, sea, breath, blood and fire...”
Sketches and black/white version
The main line art was drawn traditionally on paper, and the illustration was colored digitally.
